Modern Slavery Prevention Statement
Introduction
At Ethicminerals, we are firmly committed to respecting human rights and preventing all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This commitment applies to all our mining activities, including our own operations as well as those carried out by contractors, suppliers, and business partners.
We recognise that the mining sector may involve specific risks associated with complex operational environments, labour-intensive activities, and extended supply chains. For this reason, we adopt a proactive and preventive approach aligned with international best practices.
Our mining activities
Ethicminerals develops mining projects focused on the responsible production of critical minerals essential for the energy transition and industrial development. Our operations are governed by the principles of responsible mining, prioritising people’s safety, respect for local communities, and environmental sustainability.
All activities are conducted in compliance with applicable labour legislation and international human rights standards.
Supply chain and contractors
Mining supply chains often include potentially high-risk activities such as civil works, transportation, maintenance, security services, auxiliary services, and exploration. In this context, Ethicminerals:
- Prioritises the engagement of local suppliers and contractors whenever possible.
- Assesses critical suppliers prior to engagement, particularly those operating on site or employing labour-intensive workforces.
- Requires compliance with labour standards, fair wages, and decent working conditions.
This approach supports local economic development while reducing social and labour-related risks.
Policies and governance framework
Ethicminerals has specific policies in place that support a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. Our Modern Slavery Prevention Policy forms part of a broader governance framework that includes:
- Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Anti-Corruption Policy
- Human Rights Policy
- Whistleblowing Policy and whistleblower protection
These policies apply to employees, contractors, and third parties acting on behalf of the Company.
Due diligence and risk management in mining
We acknowledge that certain mining-related risks may be heightened in remote locations, subcontracted activities, or during construction and project expansion phases. To mitigate these risks, we implement due diligence processes that include:
- Identification of social and labour risks within operations and contractor activities.
- Targeted assessment of on-site and high-risk suppliers.
- Periodic monitoring of working conditions and employment practices.
- Early response mechanisms to address potential non-compliance.
Reporting mechanisms and protection
Ethicminerals ensures that any individual — employee, contractor, or third party — can report concerns related to modern slavery or improper treatment without fear of retaliation.
Our reporting mechanisms are designed to be accessible, confidential, and suitable for mining environments, including personnel working in remote or operational sites.
Training and awareness
We provide targeted training to employees and key personnel on:
- Modern slavery risks specific to the mining sector.
- Responsibilities in managing contractors and suppliers.
- Early identification of warning signs in operational environments.
Training is tailored to job roles, with particular focus on procurement, site supervision, and project management functions.
Monitoring and continuous improvement
Ethicminerals is developing social performance indicators to systematically assess the effectiveness of the measures implemented, particularly across mining operations and critical supply chains.
These indicators will support enhanced transparency, improved prevention, and increased awareness at all organisational levels.
Ongoing commitment
As part of our commitment to ethical and responsible mining, Ethicminerals will continue to:
- Strengthen social risk assessments across mining projects.
- Enhance oversight of critical contractors and suppliers.
- Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and safe reporting.
